GifClean is not a GIF size or palette reducer in the normal sense, but I've included it here as it's a useful freeware utility. It gets rid of unecessary junk inside a GIF, eg the promo statements often added by software, plus other extraneous structures not needed for viewing on the Web. It has a simple interface and does what it claims to do. Definitely worth the download time. A shareware version that also cleans up (and annotates) JPEG files is coming soon.
