David Williamson's version: AUSTRALIA is a parliamentary democracy. This method of government seems to be the most successful way yet devised of balancing individual ambition with community needs, and most of us would not want to change it. However, as the will of the majority has the potential to deprive individuals, States and minority groups of justice, certain inalienable rights and obligations are specified and guaranteed in our Constitution.
